Giant A-Frames--Mon Dieu.... Or, Holy Giant A-Frame Batman!!

A special present from my STL--we're making the most of it...

It might be a good thing to have a giant blank canvas as an artist, but when the canvas weighs several hundred pounds, takes 6 MEN to lift it, (and you say, just leave it where it is & I'll do it outside, BUT it's WINTER here in the northeast)...It leaves you with a dry mouth.

Welcome Monica,

And with a sunset, follows a sunrise. We welcome Monica Kelly to North Wales, as the new "co-artist", as Candace coined it. She is an Illustration alum from Savannah College of Art & Design, and she also enjoys freelance painting, design & illustration on the side.

Monica is very happy to get paid to fart around with chalk markers here and there, and with no further ado, here they are:

Au Revoir Mon Cherie!

So, many chalkboards have come and gone, and so have many store artists here at North Wales. My chalk-mate, Candace, has up and jet-set to the west coast (San Fran, specifically) to reside there permanently. I miss her sorely, but here are some of her last boards with us!

--Candace will hopefully be posting her own Cali stuff when she gets around to it!

Busy with baby, but the team is back!

So I'm welcoming my son, Gabriel Joseph to the blog, as he hopefully one day will learn to enjoy and appreciate art...Along with learning to walk and talk, too.

Candace was here holding the fort down and polishing her chalky style at the same time. Take a look at what she's been up too:

Working hard, but hardly working...on chalkboards

I have a new chalkboard artist buddy here at North Wales. Her name is Candace and she hails from Stroudsburg, PA. She's a talented painting major at Tyler School of Art and loves, as tiring as it is, to have an artsy job while she's in school. I'm so happy she's here because we have so much fun sharing the duties of the wfm chalkboard artist!

Here are the last few projects that we've pumped out (Can you tell our styles apart?):

An earlier produce board

Just a stone fruits board. I was so torn with whether or not I should outline the fruits. I'm a real stickler for not outlining, but I'm starting to incorporate that more. What do you think? Does it need it?

Welcome King Tut Exhibit to Philly!

A little late to post (just got my camera running again!).

Cooler Bag & Local Hummus

Had fun with these! I will post my large boards later! Tegan, your carousel is great! I love how you are loosening up and your font work is tremendous! Keep up the good work...

Carnivale!

The first of my hot summer carnival series! Whaddya think? I really loosened up by the end, (how I usually paint), but all that darn mathmatic design to that ferris wheel. Phew!
